I blog primarily over at "geosciblog" (http://geosciblog.blogspot.com), I am doing this one for fun. It is inspired by 30+ years of beer can collecting and having tried more than 3,000 different American beers during that time. “. . . And beer was drunk with reverence, as it ought to be.” — G. K. Chesterton

Found Two New Beer-Related Blogs

Beers of My Life and Tipsy Texan.

Both are listed in the blogroll at right, and both are informative and entertaining.

So if I don't post here as often as I should, go give them a read (in moderation, of course).

Cheers!

Could you please tell me where a good place is to find information on the approximate value of different beer cans...a "blue book" of sorts. Does such a thing, web-site or similar exist? My husband has many (~several hundred) beer cans that I would like to move to a more appreciated space :) Most of these are from the 70's and are currently taking up space in our barn. We are not looking to make big bucks from (I'm not sure if many are worth a whole lot), but on the other hand he enjoyed and took time to collect in his younger years; it would be nice not to 'be ripped off' by someone who does it just for money.
Thanks!

The Brewery Collectibles Club of America (www.bcca.com) has a new Tab Top Book for sale, but with all of the color photos, it is kind of pricey.

Checking eBay takes time, but you might give it a try to check prices. A lot of people were collecting during that time period, so most of the cans are common, but there could be some "sleepers" in there, probably not worth hundreds of dollars, but $5 here, $10 there.

Thank you for your help, "on the rocks". I did end up calling the BCCA just a bit ago and yes, the books are a bit pricey. I may try eBay as I have time. I am guessing that many of them are like what you were saying...fairly common. I'm also hoping to contact the club in our area and see if they have any suggestions.
Thanks again for your help!
